Robert Evers, former Grand Junction Police Chief and past WCPOA President, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. |
In 1958, a group of law enforcement officers met and formed the Western Colorado Peace Officer Association. Since that time, WCPOA has provided training to thousands of officers and support staff at their semi-annual conferences. The Spring Conference is held in Grand Junction, and the location of the fall conference is rotated throughout Western Colorado. WCPOA conferences provide training along with networking opportunities.
Membership is open to full-time peace officers, special agents of railroad companies, district attorneys, dispatchers, federal agents, fire department investigators, and support staff of the above listed agencies. We welcome membership from all over Colorado, as well as surrounding states.
The Board is excited about our up-coming Spring Conference - April 28th & 29th, 2010, in Grand Junction. We have experts on Motorcycle Gangs and Street Gangs that will prepare you for those encounters. Joel Wade, Department of Health, will be training on the hot topic: Medical Marijuana. And Special Agent Ptak and Det. Valdez are presenting a review of the Fuji Oriental Massage case. Click here for more information!
WCPOA is dedicated to providing great training at minimal costs. If you have suggestions for future conferences, please contact one of our board members.
